Chris Hembree, nationally recognized artist and third generation craftsman, began his journey with metalcrafting as a boy in his father's shop. His natural ability and early exposure to the art of precision guided him in his youthful exploration of design and fabrication. While traveling throughout the U.S. and Europe, then across the oceans as a deep-sea sailor, Chris developed a quiet confidence and vision for an artful, conscious life. Earning his degree in Northwest ecology from Evergreen State College deepened his connection to the natural world. Pursuing his love of functional art and nature, he has returned to the peaceful forest of his youth to create elegant, functional art. With reverence and humor, his timeless, organic designs embrace the precision and chaos of the natural world. The artist lives with his wife in the woods of Duvall, Washington. |
